Storm Aviation Strengthens Presence at Glasgow-Prestwick Airport

Storm Aviation, part of FL Technics, has firmly established its base maintenance operations in Glasgow- Prestwick Airport to provide a full spectrum of aircraft maintenance solutions to existing and future customers.

Looking ahead, Storm Aviation will exclusively operate its base maintenance operations from its primary wide-body hangar. The decision to cease its London-Stansted hangar facility was driven by the Company’s disciplined approach to resource allocation and operational efficiency. This change enables Storm Aviation to re-align its strategic goals and optimise the resources and expertise in line with the market dynamics, thereby enhancing productivity and service quality. The management is committed to driving growth and delivering on its path to continued profitability.

Kenny Chan, Director of Maintenance stated, “Focusing our base efforts at our Prestwick hangar is a strategic move to streamline our operations and improve efficiency. By centralising our base maintenance solution at Glasgow-Prestwick, we aim to better serve our customers with the highest quality standards while ensuring a sustainable business model.”

Following the rebrand from Chevron Aircraft Maintenance to Storm Aviation earlier this year, this move further solidifies our presence locally and underscores our commitment to investing in the local community.

Storm Aviation has implemented several enhancements at the Prestwick facility, including new capabilities, enhanced management structure, and investments in people and infrastructure. These improvements ensure that the quality and range of services offered, from engine changes to C2 6-year base checks of the A320/A321/B737/B787 Family aircraft, are consistently delivered on time and on budget, to meet our customer’s requirements.

Storm Aviation is an international line maintenance, base maintenance and training provider, operating 24-hour comprehensive support for commercial aircraft operators. Offering fully customised services in base AOG support, workshop facilities, aircraft modification programs and tooling hire & calibration laboratory. As a truly independent MRO, Storm Aviation can adapt its approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements, while also carrying out work to the highest standards.
