Job Purpose
Working with and under the guidance of the Certifying Engineer and Lead Mechanic on the zone/aircraft as allocated. Supporting them with all aspects of Aircraft Maintenance performed by the Company.
Job Accountabilities
- Be proficient in maintaining aircraft to the appropriate standard
- Being able to perform all maintenance tasks including but not limited to;
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand tools and power tools
- Replace and replenish aircraft fluids, including fuel, oils and lubricants
- Prepare and paint aircraft surfaces
- Remove or install aircraft components
- Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance
- Maintain, repair, and rebuild aircraft structures, functional components, and parts such as wings and fuselage, rigging, hydraulic units, oxygen systems, fuel systems, electrical systems, gaskets, and seals
- Communicate with other workers to coordinate fitting and alignment of heavy parts, or to facilitate processing of repair parts
- Inventory and requisition or order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment
- Any other duties as reasonable requested by lead mechanics / licenced aircraft engineer
- Ensure all paperwork is completed to the required standards and in line with the company MOE
- Ensure correct use and accuracy of the MRO system is maintained with regards to all maintenance activities.
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of regulatory requirements and any associated changes in relation to EASA Part 145, Part M and Part 66
- Maintain awareness and knowledge of requirements and any associated changes in relation to company health and safety policies and procedures as they apply to aircraft maintenance operations, with specific focus on working at height and the use of plant & machinery
- Ensure activities meet with and integrate with company requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care
- Maintain the highest airworthiness, quality, safety and performance standards and ensure all company and legal requirements appertaining to aircraft maintenance and inspection are complied with
- Maintain an up-to-date aircraft maintenance logbook to demonstrate level of experience and competence gained through the completion of a variety of tasks
- Hold and maintain a valid Company Aircraft Mechanic authorisation
- Housekeeping, ensuring work areas are kept clean and tidy as reasonably practicable
- Ad hoc project work as required within the scope of the role
Additional Requirements:
- Hold the right to work in the UK – proof is required as part of our shortlisting process
- Have completed a recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or hold similar experience
- Have a good standard of written/ spoken English, including the ability to interact at a technical level
Shift Pattern:
5,5,4 Shift Pattern, 7am – 7pm
12 hour day shifts
