Job Role

A Storm Station Manager is a certifying engineer who is not part of the standard station roster.  They are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of their line station, as well as meeting all regulatory needs and escalating issues to the Operations Maintenance Manager. This role requires administrative and managerial duties with aircraft support where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory and Budgetary Requirements

  • Ensure all relevant Station, EASA and CAA regulations are met
  • Ensure relevant procedures are developed, maintained, and reviewed ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Ensure all relevant directions, procedures and directives are controlled and correctly read and recorded
  • Manage the line Station costs and revenue and ensure all expenditure is recorded and potential cost savings or potential overspends are brought to the attention of the OMM
  • Ensure overtime claims are accurate and filed in a timely manner
  • Ensure all non-conformities are responded to within laid down timelines

Line Maintenance

  • Maintain an efficient and effective Station structure to support the Customer Airline fleet
  • Ensure staffing levels and skills are sufficient to fulfil shift requirements
  • Manage, understand, and strive to improve station KPIs
  • Maintain oversight of selected third party suppliers
  • Ensure all responsible staff are suitably qualified, regularly briefed, and aware of their responsibilities and updates
  • Responsible for relevant staff being aware of all H & S obligations and responsibilities
  • Ensure the line stores is a safe and efficient operation and in compliance with all relevant regulations
  • Responsible for instigating and maintaining a rolling audit, security measures, stores procedures and tooling inventory as required

Managing People

  • Accountable for all aspects of people management – attendance, performance, behaviour, employee relations and staff development
  • Lead by example. Establish a strong work ethic and encourage staff interaction and ownership of issues across station
  • Establish a proactive and professional working culture
  • Developing a strong, motivated, well-informed, tenacious and technically efficient team

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • Be a qualified Part66 Licence holder
  • Hold relevant station management experience in a similar environment
  • Have significant People Management experience
  • Hold a valid UK Drivers Licence
  • Excellent leadership and confident communicator – all levels of interaction
  • Hold excellent verbal and written English skills, including the ability to interact at a technical level
  • Ability to interpret technical publications and make fact based decisions
  • You must currently hold the right to work in the UK – proof is required for as part of our shortlisting stage

Shift Pattern:

37.5 hours per week. Monday – Thursday 8.30am – 5pm, Friday 8.30am – 2.30pm
