David entered into the aviation industry in 1990 as an apprentice with British Airways and served on both the Boeing and Airbus fleets at LHR before becoming a Structures Engineer in the Technical Engineering Department in 2001. During this time, David gained a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering Design.
David left British Airways in 2008 to become an Airworthiness Surveyor with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), overseeing the application of aviation regulation in UK industry and maintenance organisations in Russia on behalf of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). A role he performed for six years. During his time with the UK CAA, David also specialised in Safety Management Systems, delivering courses to domestic industry and foreign regulatory authorities.
David joins Storm Aviation from Monarch Airlines, where he held the post of Head of Safety Management, responsible for the development and maintenance of Monarch’s Safety Management System.
In his free time, as well as being a committed family man, David is passionate about sailing. Most Sundays, you will find him with his young son, racing their sailing dinghy.
